Jon is one of only two Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeons in Scotland to hold a specialist qualification in Sports and Exercise Medicine. He is Fellowship trained in knee and shoulder surgery and provides the complex knee ligament reconstruction service for NHS Ayrshire and Arran. He has a proven record of successful care for both professional and amateur athletes, with a keen interest in rapid rehabilitation and return to sport. Jon played representative rugby union for the Royal Air Force and Bedford RFC, and draws on his personal experience of professional sport and sports injuries in providing treatment. He continues to participate regularly in long distance running races and triathlons.
Anushka qualified from the University of Durban Westville, South Africa in 1992. While in South Africa she worked in a variety of settings and was a regular medical helper with the Comrades Marathon, and The All Africa Games. She moved to the USA where she continued to work in a variety of settings with sports being a special area of focus. She worked with school age athletes, professional athletes and weekend warriors. She now heads the physiotherapy department at BMI Carrick Glen Hospital.
